Our Story
Welcome to River Park Animal Clinic, a labor of love founded by Dr. Jian Luo and her twin sister, Lucy Luo. Raised in a household brimming with furry friends in China, the sisters fostered a compassion for animals from a young age. Fond memories of tending to family pets sparked their shared passion for animal care, and they’ve never looked back!
Dr. Jian Luo’s journey to becoming a veterinarian traces back to her earliest aspirations at age five. At the time, she faced limited resources in China for a top-notch veterinary education, so she came to the United States when she was 19 to get her college degree in Animal Science. She spent every summer vacation immersing herself in research labs, animal shelters, vet clinics, zoos, and wildlife conservations. She was accepted into six vet schools and graduated with her D.V.M degree from Purdue University in 2015. Throughout her years of dedicated practice, one of her biggest joys has been witnessing pets flourishing and living long, healthy lives under her care.
Meanwhile, Lucy pursued a career in finance but couldn’t shake her longing to make a difference in the animal health industry. Leaving behind a lucrative position, she pursued an MBA at Tulane University and later served for eight years as a finance and data analytics director for a large veterinary group.
United by their dedication to animal welfare and the pure joy of working with their best friend, Dr. Jian Luo and Lucy embarked on a shared mission to establish River Park Animal Clinic. Inspired by their childhood teamwork in caring for family pets, they envisioned a clinic where staff, clients, and patients alike would be treated with the same level of compassion and commitment. Together, they aspire to provide exceptional care and foster lasting relationships within their community.
